Every time I go to a craft store I drool over the embroidery floss display. I mean look at the colors, the texture, the slight sheen. Because embroidery itself doesn’t interest me, I always let them sit on the shelf. But, what if I could figure out how to use embroidery floss in my art journal?
I chose an assortment of colors and brought them home with me to try it out.
I started out by stenciling some backgrounds in my art journal using stamp pads.
To get started, I chose this background and orange & yellow embroidery thread.
I used a glue pen (affiliate link) to draw a curvy line.
Then I laid the embroidery floss onto the glue line.
Here’s what the spread looked like when I finished adding the curvy lines.
I then chose some green floss to use in the middle section, following the lines of the plants. I’m looking forward to using embroidery floss in my art journal again.
