I thought I’d share a little bit of the process of how I create the designs in my shop.
I use Adobe Spark and start out by choosing a color palette and background layout.
Then I add icons/shapes and sometimes text.
The last step is my favorite, I add a pattern icon and fill it with a transparent color. Sometimes the pattern is on top of the shapes, and sometimes behind them, depending on the design and the effect I’m after.
Of course, the process is rarely this linear. Sometimes I switch up the color palette or background layout while I’m adding the shapes. Or I might choose the pattern first and then the shapes.
I added 2 new designs to my shop this week, Birdwatcher and Mid-Century. Plus, get 25% off everything on November 3 & 4.
This is my take on an Art Nouveau inspired design. Art Nouveau is a style of art and design that was popular between 1890 and 1910. Its main characteristics are organic, asymmetrical lines and stylized natural forms. Additionally, it used muted, earthy colors.
I added 2 new designs to the shop this week. There’s still a month and a half of Fall and my Falling #2 design celebrates its warm colors. Or, if cool colors are more your thing, there’s Dotted #2. Plus, from October 27- October 30 get 30% off everything.
