As I was taking a city walk one evening, this building caught my eye. I mean, look at it, that dusty pink color, the light, the shadows, basically everything. I took this shot from the sidewalk, and then walked in closer, looking for more shots. The great thing about digital photography is that there’s no cost for taking pictures and you can just delete any you don’t like. So, take as many as you want, experiment with different compositions, look for interesting textures and colors, and try out unusual camera angles. And most of all, have fun!
I took this shot, concentrating on the corner of the building and the shadows.
I love the yellow color of this pole against the pink of the building. The black window frame also adds interest to the composition.
I walked to the other side of the building and created this composition.
I used the rule of thirds to create this minimalist composition. Aren’t the textures great?
Then I looked up and captured this shot. I love the pink building against the blue sky.
This just a selection of my favorites from the shots I took. Some were duds that I will delete, but I had a fun time and hopefully improved my photographers eye.
