I decided to use this stylized flower I had sketched in my art journal as the basis for the designs.
For the color palette, I started with one of my favorite color combinations: yellow and gray, and then added the coral. I hand-drew the flowers, scanned them, and traced them in Adobe Illustrator. I use the rectangle tool to create the diamond shapes.
I added color to the floral motifs and used them and the diamonds in different combinations on each piece of the collection.
For my Redbubble shop, I changed the name of the collection to Yellow, Coral, and Gray Floral Designs. I tweaked the design from the letterhead to fit the products better. I will be adding the rest of the stationery designs to the shop in the future.
The design is available on wall art, phone cases, home decor, stickers, and magnets.
An invasive species is any living thing that did not evolve in it’s current location. Invasive plants can cause harm to the environment by crowding out native species. They can also be beautiful. The shapes and colors of the flowers catch my eye. Enjoy the photos that I have taken of some invasive plants, but do not plant them in your garden.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in my local park lately. It’s so beautiful in spring with all the flowers blooming. To take these photos I used the aperture priority setting on my camera. I set the aperture to a wide opening (small number) to blur the background behind the flowers.
