During a recent hike I spied a fallen sycamore branch and its interesting bark patterns and snapped a photo.
The branch was too far away to really see the bark patterns, so I got closer.
That was better, so I got closer and tried some different angles to get a more interesting shot.
I love the curve on this part of the branch and the knobs that almost look like eyes.
I like the composition of this photo and how the leave make a great background.
This is my favorite shot, I love how the shadows interact with the shapes on the bark.
Next time you’re out with your camera, remember to get closer.
