Walks with my camera always seem to develop a theme. On my latest walk, that theme was windows. I saw windows with reflections, windows in golden evening light, and one window with a statue and roses.
This may look like an average street view, but there are some great colors when you look closer.
This is a happy color palette of brown, yellows, and blue.
Taking photos with the sun behind you can create a well-lit subject. But, using backlighting by shooting into the sun can create dramatic and beautiful shots.
Translucent spring flower petals let the light through them and create radiant images.
I walked down a slope to get a good angle to shoot some trilliums. I was kneeling to shoot a single flower when I looked up and behind me and saw this scene. I love the glowing trillium flowers against the dark trees in the background.
Autumn brings the opportunity to shoot glowing yellow leaves against the dark forest and sky.
